Strategically positioned for maximum privacy and expansive views, these 94 m2 individual sanctuaries within Erebero Hills pay homage to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The design draws inspiration from the silhouettes and fluid movements of the region’s wildlife a gesture reflected in the organic curvature of the roofs and the very flow of the living space.

The architecture invites an intuitive journey of exploration. Upon entering, the layout brings curiosity before revealing a deeply welcoming room supported by a structure of local blond bamboo arches. A full length glass facade provides an immediate visual expansion toward the horizon, framing the high tree canopies and mountain silhouettes as the centerpiece of the refuge. The private terrace acts as a fluid threshold between inside and out, strategically designed to capture soft natural light while preventing overheating.

To minimize ground impact and preserve local wildlife corridors, the structure rests respectfully on stilts. This system provides the structural rigidity required for safety while evoking a poetic sensation of floating above the landscape. Inside, thermal comfort is achieved through a passive design system that leverages the natural properties of local materials, offering a comfortable, secure, and intimate sanctuary that fosters a deep connection with oneself and the natural environment.
