Ether Villa

Villa Ether stands as a temple of stillness in the landscape of Uluwatu, serving as an ode to contemplation.

Created specifically as an absolute silence retreat for lovers of wellness, meditation, and yoga, the building is sheltered and acoustically isolated from its surroundings, allowing the senses to synchronize with the sounds of the wind, light, and shadows.

The layout and morphology of the villa materialize this unique experience through a two bedroom floor plan covering a total surface area of 374 m², distributed across protected interior spaces and gardens within. The architecture adopts a circular geometry organized around an open sky central courtyard. This interior void functions as the building’s environmental lung, regulating the microclimate through passive ventilation by pulling fresh air from the tropical vegetation. 

The interior transitions unfold in a continuous rhythm a journey with no beginning or end that evokes a sense of infinity and gently guides the inhabitant toward the central green core through transparent and minimalist boundaries.

The villa’s tectonic character combines with a bamboo column structure that provides strength while allowing for fluid curves. This framework is balanced by off white lime plaster walls, matte finished local volcanic stone, and timber, all working together to protect and amplify a state of calm and silence.
