Four Leaf Villa is located in the mountains of East Bali, surrounded by the natural landscape of Hideout, an eco-resort beside a quiet river. Away from the city, the villa is immersed in the sounds of flowing water, wind, and tropical life, becoming part of its environment rather than separate from it.
The design takes inspiration from the image of four falling leaves. Each “leaf” forms a distinct roof that defines the spatial rhythm of the villa. The overlapping roofs rise and descend softly, shaping interiors where light and air move freely. Openings between them allow natural light to filter in, creating subtle patterns of brightness and shade throughout the day.
The structure uses a minimal number of bamboo columns, giving the interior a sense of openness and continuity. The central roof shelters the communal area—a generous space for gathering—while the upper roof lightly elevates the main bedroom as a quiet retreat. The two side roofs enclose the secondary bedroom and bathroom, completing the composition.
Built entirely from natural materials, the villa showcases bamboo in various forms: black bamboo for the structure, floors, and furniture; yellow bamboo for contrast and warmth; and polished limestone and glass for balance and lightness. Together, these materials create a calm and cohesive atmosphere that reflects the villa’s connection to its natural setting.
