Sphere Hideout

Nestled within the lush landscape of the eco-resort getaway Hideout, in Bali. Hideout Sphere is a bamboo retreat inspired by the seven spheres of the spiritual realms. It reflects particularly on the second sphere, where harmony, love, and kindness nurture the higher qualities of the human soul.

The architecture explores the idea of movement between worlds — the physical and the spiritual — through the language of organic form. Its multi-level design invites guests to journey through light, space, and material, creating moments of stillness and elevation. Crafted entirely from bamboo, the structure celebrates bamboo architecture as a living material, merging craftsmanship with the fluidity of nature.

Every curve and opening is oriented to connect with its surroundings. The design opens toward the forest canopy and mountain light, blurring the boundary between architecture and landscape. This approach echoes our principles of biophilic design, where spaces nurture wellbeing through connection to the natural environment.

Built by local artisans, the project embraces sustainable design practices in Bali such as passive ventilation, renewable materials, and minimal site impact. Hideout Sphere embodies a philosophy of coexistence, where building and land evolve together, breathing as one ecosystem.

More than a place to stay, it is a transformative space for inner renewal, where architecture becomes a gentle bridge between the human spirit and the living world.

At the heart of its design is an extraordinary display of curved bamboo craftsmanship. A technique mastered by Balinese artisans who shape the material with precision and intuition. Each curve is hand-bent using fire and moisture, a process that transforms straight poles into fluid, load-bearing arches. The result is both structural and poetic, a testament to the art of bamboo construction in Bali.
