The Welcoming marks the entry point to Bumi Cinta, setting the tone for the retreat with openness and ease. Elevated above the land, the oval-shaped structure embraces its surroundings, offering expansive views of the jungle, ocean, and valley. Designed as both a gathering place and a restaurant, it creates a memorable first impression while remaining in quiet dialogue with the natural environment.
Built from bamboo, reclaimed wood, glass, and earth, the design balances lightness with solidity. A broad terrace extends outward for guests to take in the views, while the open plan allows air and light to flow freely through the space. Two levels are connected by a spiral staircase: the upper level welcomes visitors into the retreat, while the lower level hosts a restaurant where guests can dine immersed in the landscape. The kitchen, enclosed in textured rammed earth, grounds the airy structure with warmth and weight.
Every detail reflects Bumi Cinta’s guiding principles of sustainability and respect for place. Recycled materials, bamboo structure, and passive design strategies minimize environmental impact, while the elevated form preserves the natural terrain. In its combination of openness, balance, and rootedness, the Welcoming space embodies the spirit of Bumi Cinta, where arrival itself becomes part of the retreat experience.
