The Yoga Shala is a 2-story structure designed with the intention of highlighting all the connections between our physical, mental, and spiritual practices.

Its center contains a multifunctional central area to be used mainly for massage, dance, and art sessions, and on the sides is a pottery space that is semi-open and a polished cement bathroom with an in-built bathtub and shower. At the same time, the top floor is purely dedicated to the practice of Yoga and meditation.

The plan, three interconnected circles representing these three practices, unite each other to physically express this balance and harmony.

For the structural composition of the building, we took inspiration from the local flora and the elegant movements behind the practice of yoga. Expressive arches frame 360-degree views of the surroundings while 15-centimeter-wide bamboo pillars sustain and interconnect both floors.

At the back, all the spaces connect through a wide steel and bamboo spiral staircase, which merges it all together.
